Professional basketball player, Delonte West has an estimated net worth of $12. The 28 year old gained his net worth for being a respected shooting guard before his arrest in 2009.

West’s fruitful career all started whilst at Saint Joseph’s University. He managed to pull together (along with follow player, Jameer Nelson) one of the best backcourt in the United States. West’s effort helped Saint Joseph’s University’s team (The Hawks) achieve the no.1 seed at the NCAA Tournament.

After leaving Saint Joseph as a junior champion, West was approached by Boston Celtics as the 24th Pick in the NBA Draft in 2004. It wasn’t the best start for West as he only played just 39 games, due to his struggles with injuries. During his rookie season, West was appointed as the starting point guard for the 2005-06 season.

Also in that season, West was appointed to represent the Celtics for the Rookie Challenge at NBA all-star weekend. He replaced his fellow team player, Jameer Nelson, who suffered injuries.

By the 2006-07 season, West was moved to the shooting guard position. However luck wasn’t on West’s side, as he struggled in the early stages and subsequently moved back to the point guard position. However towards the end of the season things started to change in the positive direction, as the Washington DC –born sportsman, scored a career high of 31 points, which led to Celtic’s victory.

During the2007 NBA Draft, West was traded in to the Seattle Supersonics and by the early 2008, he was traded to Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the three-team deal. As a Cavalier player, West scored a season high of 20 points against the Boston Celtics- and this was only six days after the trade.

By late 2008, 6ft3 West signed a three-year contract with the Cavaliers, worth $12.7 million. Whilst under the lucrative contract, West took up the position of the shooting guard and backup point guard. West raised a few eye brows as he emerged as a highly skilled backcourt defensive player and an outstanding outside shooter.

The Cavaliers then traded West Minnesota Timberwolves- but his time at the team was short-lived. In late 2010, West signed a year contact with his old team, The Boston Celtic to backup Rajon Rondo as a point guard. The contact came to a sharp halt following a guilty plea to weapons charges.
